Saint Luke's: A Caring Community

People Coming Together

St. Luke's Church is a friendly, caring community made up of people from many religious backgrounds who have come together to help each other find answers. In these times we seek many things: acceptance, comfort, healing, values for us and our children, peace, and meaning for our lives. The people of St. Luke's don't have the answers to all these issues. But upon the foundation of God's Word, we help each other realize and learn about the love of Jesus Christ, and how that love can address our needs.

Friends Helping Friends

There is active fellowship at St. Luke's, and wonderful opportunities arise for friendship, understanding and support. There are people ready to help during times of grief, divorce, family stress or job loss. Wednesday nights are special, with activities for the whole family, and many groups meet throughout the week for fellowship, prayer and Bible study.

Growing Close Through Worship

Our worship life at St. Luke's can best be described as alive. Throughout the year, scripture and sermon topics are selected because they speak to the needs of today and will help support us in coping with life's challenges during the week. God's love brought to earth in Jesus Christ can provide an energetic power for living, and St. Luke's uses a mix of contemporary and traditional worship services, plus a Saturday service, to help bring us closer to Christ and each other.

How Can God Help Me?

Learning God's relevance for today is a goal of St. Luke's Christian education program. God's Word is a powerful tool for everyday living and our classes reflect our belief that we can serve and honor Him in whatever we do. Therefore, we try to offer something special for children, teens and adults. Adult topics can range from traditional Bible studies and strengthening prayer life to Christianity in the workplace and help with parenting, older parents, and family health issues. As stewards of the earth, there also is a strong environmental emphasis woven into our educational programs.

Making a Joyful Noise

Music, from classical favorites to contemporary Christian, plays an integral part in our fellowship and worship at St. Luke's. We offer children's choirs in addition to an adult choir. Frequent special music also serves to make a joyful noise to the Lord. Opportunities for participation are open to all.
